Family Apartments
in Budva, Montenegro
Budva is one of the most family-friendly destinations on the Adriatic. Safe, walkable, and packed with beaches that gently shelve into warm, calm water, it is the kind of place where children can run free while parents actually relax. The town is compact enough that you never need a car once you arrive, and there is always a playground, gelato stand, or quiet cove within a short walk. If you are looking for a family apartment in Budva, here is what makes this town such a good fit — and which of our apartments works best for your group.
Kid-friendly beaches
Slovenska Beach is the safest option for young children. The seabed slopes gradually, lifeguards are on duty all summer, and the sand-and-pebble mix is comfortable for small feet. The western end near the Old Town is usually the quietest. There are public showers, and the promenade behind the beach has ice-cream shops and cafes with highchairs.
Becici Beach, a 15-minute walk or short bus ride east of Budva, is another excellent family beach — wider, less crowded, and backed by a handful of family-oriented restaurants. For something more adventurous, Mogren Beach is reached through a tunnel in the cliffs and feels like a small expedition for older kids.
Activities for families
Beyond the beaches, Budva offers plenty to keep children entertained. Boat trips to Sveti Nikola island run daily in summer and take about 15 minutes each way. The Old Town walls are free to climb for families and give kids a sense of exploring a real medieval fortress. There is a small aqua park at Becici for water slides and splash pools, and the promenade has bumper cars, trampolines, and mini-golf stalls during peak season. For a half-day trip, the Lipci petroglyphs near Risan (45 minutes away in the Bay of Kotor) let children see Bronze Age rock carvings by the water.
Safety and practicalities
Budva is a very safe town. Crime rates are low, drivers are used to pedestrians, and the centre is largely car-free in summer. Pharmacies and a medical clinic are within walking distance of our apartments. Supermarkets stock international brands alongside local products, so finding familiar snacks and baby supplies is straightforward. Tap water is safe to drink. The emergency number is 112.
Our best family apartment
The Seaview Grand Apartment is our top recommendation for families. With two bedrooms, a spacious living area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a panoramic sea view, it comfortably sleeps six. Children can have their own room, and the sea view from the living area means parents can enjoy the evening after bedtime without feeling cooped up. It is approximately 200 metres from Slovenska Beach and a short walk to the Old Town.
For smaller families or couples travelling with one child, both the Cozy Seaside Apartment and the Luxury Seaside Apartment are comfortable one-bedroom options that sleep up to four. Both are the same short distance from the beach and the Old Town. The Cozy Seaside offers excellent value, while the Luxury Seaside provides a more upscale finish and is the closest to the Old Town gate.
