Budva Old Town

Budva Old Town is the beating heart of Montenegro's most popular coastal resort. A fortified medieval settlement perched on a rocky peninsula, it offers narrow stone alleys, ancient churches, panoramic city walls, and waterfront restaurants with uninterrupted Adriatic views. Staying within walking distance of the Old Town means you can explore its treasures on foot, return home for a midday rest, and step out again for an evening stroll along the ramparts without ever needing a car or taxi.

What makes the Old Town special

The Citadela sits at the southern tip of the peninsula and dates back to the 15th century. It hosts open-air concerts in summer and offers the finest sunset viewpoint in Budva. Just inside the walls, the Church of St. John (Sveti Ivan) dominates the skyline with its bell tower visible from almost anywhere in town. The church has been a place of worship since the 7th century, and the adjoining library holds one of the oldest collections of books on the Adriatic coast.

You can walk the entire length of the city walls for a few euros, taking in views over Richard's Head beach, the marina, and the open sea toward the Pashtrovichi coast. Below the walls, Richard's Head beach (Ricardova Glava) is a small, atmospheric cove tucked directly beneath the fortifications — one of the most scenic swimming spots in the entire country.

Walking distances from our apartments

All three of our apartments sit in the heart of Budva's tourist district, between Slovenska Beach and the entrance to the Old Town. This means every major landmark is reachable on foot in minutes, and you never have to worry about parking, taxis, or missing the last bus home after a late dinner.

The Luxury Seaside Apartment is the closest to the Old Town — roughly a 3-minute walk to the main gate. Its modern interiors and one-bedroom layout make it ideal for couples who want to be as near to the historic centre as possible, with restaurants, bars, and the Citadela practically on their doorstep.

The Seaview Grand Apartment is about a 5-minute walk to the Old Town entrance. With two bedrooms, space for six guests, and a panoramic sea view, it is the best choice for families or groups who want room to spread out while still being within easy reach of everything the Old Town offers.

The Cozy Seaside Apartment is also around 5 minutes on foot. A comfortable one-bedroom apartment sleeping four, it strikes a great balance between location, space, and value — perfect for couples or a small family looking for a relaxed base near the Old Town and beach.
